Delores’s first litter was out of her bitch Canarch Triple Crown bred to CH Venetian’s Cricket’s Blitzen. Although Delores’s first litter carried the Canarch prefix, Mary Lee insisted that Delores choose her own kennel name. She decided to name the kennel “Telltale” because of her childhood recollection of young colts moving in a flying trot with tails well set. She put her own spin on the name by changing “tail” to “tale” in hopes that she would one day have tales to tell.

Delores then bred Canarch Triple Crown to CH Salilyn’s Classic which produced CH Telltale Crown Darby, Telltale Victoria, and CH Telltale Prime Minister. Delores let Victoria go to a pet home with kids, with the promise she could just be their house dog. Delores kept Prime Minister and showed him to Best in Sweeps at the 1973 national specialty under breeder/judge Mary Jo Hosteny (Welcome) and went Best in Sweeps. She finished him that weekend, and he went on to win some groups. Sadly, Prime Minister died at a young age, and Delores was devastated. When the family who had Victoria heard about the death of Delores’s beloved Prime Minister, they went to her and told her that they would allow her to do one breeding to Victoria. Delores has always believed that good deeds have their own reward, and this was one example of that philosophy. She will always be indebted to Victoria’s family for helping her to move on after her loss and giving her the opportunity to continue her breeding program.
